Rave kids
The assignment is to practice drawing real settings and how people move in places. Using some panel templates from Prince of Cats by Ronald Wimberly (in my opinion one of the best comics ever made), I wrote the beginning of a story where rave was illegal (unfortunately in many places that’s true), and a fugitive with an unspoken past walked in one of them.
The assignment is a 5 page comics made in one day, which I found out was absolutely my limit. They’re super rough with questionable writing. But it gave me an excuse to draw disco dance parties the way they were back in the 70’s (the real ones, not the Saturday Night Fever kind). I turned the main building of the California College of the Arts into a large dancehall, which I really think they should do.
